clogged ear is driving me crazy
long term ear infection
Inner ear
Thank you for your book. I'm up surfing the internet because my clogged ear is driving me crazy. I had a sore throat for 2 days and then the most painful ear ache I've ever had. The pain is gone, but my ear is almost completely clogged and is driving me insane. Any suggestions for some quick relief?

Thanks for your email.
Sorry to hear your ear is still clogged. This is often the fluid remaining after the infection has cleared. The fluid will drain itself through the Eustachian tube but can take anywhere from days to weeks!
To speed things up it is important to reduce any inflammation in the ear and Eustachian tube. Vitamin C is good for this, and it is also an anti-histamine so it reduces further fluid release. Take your vitamin C at doses listed in the book.
The foods I list are also natural anti-inflammatories which you can boost up on. Many patients swear by the chicken soup recipe - add extra ginger, turmeric and garlic to give it a real punch. The lemon and ginger tea also helps to drain the fluid a little faster.
Some patients find the steam inhalations and lymph massage help to mobilise the fluid, so they are worth a try.
With your diet, focus on lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and protein. I would eliminate dairy, sugar and grains (particularly wheat) for a few days. If the fluid persists you may be looking at an allergy so may have to cut these foods out for longer.
Let me know how you go and if you have any further problems.
